Description:
Every weekend, this quiet, restored Victorian station comes to life with the hustle and bustle of hundreds of bargain hunters. Beneath the glass and wrought iron canopies of this beautiful listed building, you'll discover plenty of stalls weighed down with tempting goodies
This market couldn't be easier to get to. Jump on the Metro to the Coast, hop off at Tynemouth Station and you're there.
A regular market is held in the station buildings every weekend, with an occasional farmers' market too. The Friends of Tynemouth Station have also arranged book fairs and displays of artwork at the station. In 2007, English Heritage placed the station on its "at-risk" register of notable buildings in need of restoration.
Set in the (partially) restored splendour of Tynemouth's Victorian railway station, this covered market is a joy for those seeking largely Crafts & second-hand bargains.
Stalls include all manner of crafts, books, videos, records, compact discs, household bric-a-brac, clothes, pictures and prints, militaria, china, furniture, flowers, homemade confectionery, you name it and it will probably be there.
