Description:
Elswick Park and Swimming Pool is situated in the South of the City in the Elswick Ward.
Elswick Park and Pool is one of our more unusual pools in that it is kidney shaped. That doesn't stop it providing all of the normal activities that you would expect to find at a swimming pool and maybe some that you wouldn't. There are early morning swim sessions, or you can try a session of Keep Fit or Aquafit and use the sauna too.
There are also several fitness machines available for use which is part of the Impulse Fitness Suite
. We also have Tennis Courts and 5-a-side All Weather Pitches for hire.
For something slightly different, why not try a Judo session. We have two multi purpose rooms that are used not just for Judo but for soft play too.
General Information
The Park presently boasts shrubbery, mature stands of trees, amenity grass areas, all weather sports pitches, tennis courts, equipped play areas, an indoor swimming pool with disabled access facilities exercise/sports and sauna. Within the park is a commemorative fountain acknowledging the people who gave the park to the city – visit the park and find out more.
Park Keeper
The park keeper is Mal Boag. If you have any general enquiries relating to the park please contact Rob Delap.
Transport and Parking
Buses from Newcastle stop on Elswick Road next to the park. There is on site parking accessible from Beech Grove Road.
You can take part in various activities at Elswick Park and Pool such as swimming, keep fit, football, tennis and aquafit. There is also a sauna suite with a steam room and several fitness machines are available.
