Description:
Visit Chesters Roman Fort and discover the best visible remains of a cavalry fort in Britain. The fort was built to guard the Roman bridge which carried Hadrian’s Wall over the River North Tyne in Northumberland. Bring your family to the fort and explore the entire foundations of the headquarters building, including the courtyard, hall, regimental temple and the largest, most luxurious building – the commandant’s house. Down by the river, you can see the extremely well-preserved steam rooms and bathing areas of the garrison’s bath house, while in the refurbished  museum there's a fine collection of Roman finds.

See website for more information.
