Welcome to Kids Newcastle

Kids Newcastle is a great place to find events, activities and places to visit in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear and surrounding areas including Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham, South Shields, Washington, County Durham & Northumberland.

If you would like an event listed under 'What's On' or have your business listed why not click on the 'Register Now' button and follow the on-screen instructions.

Kids Newcastle is constantly being updated and any information on events is always welcome. If there is anywhere that you think should be listed, let us know.

We hope that you enjoy using Kids Newcastle and any suggestions for improvements or additions will be gratefully received.  Photos are also appreciated as we can add these to the Places to visit galleries.

Thanks

Visitor Numbers

April 2010- 1715 unique visitors looking at an average of 6 pages each (over 10,000 page views).  Most visitors come through search engines (92%) with the majority of these through Google.  These numbers have been reached without any marketing.  Recent feedback by some of our users has encouraged us to spend more time on the site and we will spend more time on marketing and attracting new event providers.

What's on for children and families

This section lists events and activities by date.  Simply click on the particular date on the calendar on the right and all events for that day will be listed.  There is a huge variety of things to do for children and families because we realise that everyone has different ideas of what activities they and their kids like to do.  We hope you find an event that interests the whole family.  The what's on section lists one-off events which run for a particular length of time.  Regular activities such as swimming, dance classes, trains, beaches etc will be listed in the other sections - places to go, activities, sport & entertainment.

If you know of any events or activities that are not listed here please let us know by email and we will add it to the site.

Places to visit for small kids and big kids

Search for interesting places to go using our extensive list of categories to make it easier for you.  Categories include animals & farms, museums, arts & crafts and many more.  All children and families have different interests so we have tried to add as many interesting places as possible.

We might have missed one of your favourite places.  Why not let us know via email -

Activities

From cubs to dance classes, interesting walks to music classes this section lists a variety of activities (except sports) that run all year round.

Sport

The variety of sports available for children seem to be increasing all the time.  Some providers, such as the leisure centres, change their sports and kids activities fairly regularly so trying to keep this section up to date can be quite difficult.  We hope that the activies listed are still relevant and it is always best to contact the place first.  We try to provide phone numbers, website links and email addresses wherever we can.

Entertainment

In this section you will find lots of information about children's parties, soft play areas etc.  In the Theatre section we tend to make a decision about the shows we think are relevant for kids.

If you are an after-school club please send us some information on the activies you provide and a photo of your building.

Shopping

This section is new and is 'work in progress'
